Coles County Dragway
USA Track Rules
1. All NHRA rules apply
and are the minimum for competition and safety standards. We will follow those
rules and the following rules in an effort to provide a safe, fair, and fun
racing program for all participants and
spectators.
2. A responsible,
professional and sportsmanlike behavior is expected of all racers, crew members
and spectators. Conduct of a crew member is the responsibility of the racer.
Abusive or aggressive behavior towards any track official or employee will not
be tolerated, and can result in but is not limited to disqualification of a
racer.
3. All cars must go
through a tech inspection before any passes are made. Tech must be done by an
SFI certified employee/representative of Coles County Dragway, or must present a
Division 3 NHRA ETI card.
NO exceptions.
4. Staging Lanes--all
cars are asked to promptly heed the class call. During time runs--When the last
pair is on the apron, the lanes are then closed for that session. One time run
per class is the maximum, unless
designated by a track official. If you miss your class session, it is the
staging lane directors discretion if you are allowed to make it up.
Eliminations--You will be given a class call. Five minutes later will be a
second class call. A third and final class call will be given five minutes after
that, and then the lanes will be closed. An orange cone will be placed at the
end of the lanes by the staging director and the lanes are closed at that time.
5. Buy Backs--Any racer
in Super Pro, Pro, Motorcycle, Street, High School or Powder Puff who loses in
the first or second round is eligible for a buy back. In the event where there
is less than 30 cars in Super Pro or Pro Class, it will be first AND second
round buybacks. Quick 8 competitors are eligible to buy back into the second
round of Super Pro should they lose in the first round. JR Dragster will
continue to have a consolation race should they lose in the first round.
6. Rain Policy--Race
is final if round 1 of all classes is completed. Rain Dates--(Regular
Classes)--Saturday race will be made up on Sunday if there is no scheduled
race for that day. Saturday race with a scheduled Sunday race is not made up.
Rain Dates--(Quick 8, High School, Powder Puff)--Saturday or Sunday races
will be made up on the next available date.
7. Absolutely NO glass
containers on grounds at any time.
8. 10 MPH Speed limit by
ALL vehicles while on the grounds.
9. All ATV's, golf carts,
or other pit vehicles must be driven by someone who is 16 years or older at all
times-NO exceptions. Also, please be courteous to all participants and
spectators while operating your vehicle.
10. Every race car must
have a working taillight. If our lights are on, your lights need to be on.
11. Break Passes--No break
pass will be issued after you have taken a green light. Participants who break
are allowed to enter another car or a different class on original entry.
12. Bye Runs--the bye runs
for first round are determined by the best reaction time during the second time
run session. After the first round, it will be determined by the best reaction
time during a winning run in
the previous round. Bye run is rolled over or carried until it is either used or
if the racer loses it. Only one bye run is permitted unless all remaining
competitors have had one as well.
13. Deep Staging--deep
staging is allowed, but not guaranteed. It is the drivers responsibility to
stage in a timely manner and must have "Deep" written on the window for starter
to see.
14. Courtesy Staging-- courtesy
staging is a must at Coles County Dragway. Starter will back you out ONE time
per event in the case of overstaging, a second time will result in
disqualification. If you are not pre-staged and your opponent has staged, you
can wait for the other car to be pulled back. Once you pre-stage though, you
must stage or the autostart will time you out if you do not stage.
15. Crew members--only one
crewmember per car is allowed in the starting line area past the ready line. All
other crewmembers are required to be behind the guardrail, and behind the blue
line behind the starter's area.
16. Dial In--All dial in's must
be completed before you reach the apron and must be visible from the tower on
the windshield and on the driver side window.
17. All racers are required to
read and sign the track rule sheet when you are tech'd in and it will stay on
file with your tech card.
